Hi, I'm Denise

Hi! I'm Denise Nguyen, a self-taught illustrator based in Switzerland.

I fell in love with drawing as a kid with nothing but crayons and paper, and years later, after teaching myself with scraps of online tutorials, I turned that passion into a career.

I specialize in character illustration that captures emotion, personality, and story. My work has led me to collaborate with indie authors, private clients, and studios like Hoyoverse and First Bite.

My motivation to teach is to show you that creating complex pieces is much easier than you imagine. I used to feel overwhelmed at the thought of finishing a drawing, and during the process I’d overfill my plate by juggling too many things at once like trying to understand the lighting, colour, atmospheres, textures, etc. simultaneously as I painted, so I developed a process-formula that I go through to ensure the finished product is exactly as I imagined. 

This course is everything I wish I had when I started: simple, hands-on tools to help you express your ideas, build confidence, and finally finish your art, no overwhelm, no perfection needed.
